Quality childcare is the right of every child and not a privilege.
Viera Children's Academy
Viera Children's Academy (VCA) is an 11,000 square foot State-of-the-Art early learning center. Our main building accommodates 182 children and our VPK building accommodates 102. We boast an excellent child-to-staff ratio and welcome parents as partners. We invite parents to chaperone field trips, to share hobbies, or to read to the children during our Thursday afternoon story hour.
Whether enrolled full time, part time, or in the VPK program, at VCA your child will receive the very best in early learning education with a well-rounded, age-appropriate curriculum that offers exposure to shapes, colors, numbers, letters, reading, American Sign Language (ASL), and Spanish as a foreign language.
Parents have peace of mind knowing their children are receiving excellent care at VCA. We partner with families, the city of Viera, and Brevard County for programs that enhance early childhood development, and our teachers are highly qualified in early childhood learning. They hold early childhood education degrees and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and the 45 hours of early childhood training required by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). VCA teachers are also trained in the HighScope "active participatory approach" that emphasizes direct engagement with objects and ideas through hands-on experiences, a program highly recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The operational hours for Viera Children’s Academy are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. With advanced notice, we will accommodate extended hours from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM for a fee.
Children need a safe, nurturing environment to develop to their full potential emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. Early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, and security.
Children learn through play and age-appropriate activities. Each child is unique and should be encouraged and challenged to develop at his or her own pace.
Children need to learn positive ways to resolve conflict. Discipline should be positive, not punitive.
Child care professionals should always maintain a sense of humor.

Viera Children's Academy is proud to have a Gold Seal accreditation through A.P.P.L.E. Gold Seal accredited centers are held to stricter guidelines compared to centers without an accreditation. The accreditation process requires each school to meet specific quality standards in areas such as the interaction between teachers and children, staff-to-child ratios, developmental appropriateness of the curriculum, staff qualifications, health and safety, and administration. It also requires schools to undergo a validation process to verify compliance with A.P.P.L.E. guidelines, often more stringent than state licensing requirements.
Along with High-Scope® , and Creative Curriculum®, our curriculum follows the guidelines for developmentally appropriate practice established by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
We encourage you to visit and observe our teachers and students in action. Please take a walking tour of our center to fully appreciate the scope of a child's experience at Viera Children's Academy (VCA) . We are sure that you will see why we say our school is “The Place That Makes The Difference.”
Tours are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 10:30 AM or at 3:30 PM. There is no need to register for the tour, but we recommend arriving at least five minutes ahead of the start time. Children are welcome.
